British-born, eco chemist, scientist, and author, Karen Sinclair Drake started her illustrious cosmetics career in an unexpected place: Studying Innovation Design Engineering and Contemporary Design at Kent Institute of Art& Design (At the same time as iconic British fashion designer, Dame Zandra Rhodes!)

Intrigued by complementary and alternative medicine, Karen spent the next two decades exploring multiple ethical, sustainable, green science principles through her innovative skincare research and development.

The many physician-dispensed products that Karen’s since created have earned her a membership with the prestigious Society of Cosmetic Scientists and the Institute of Functional Medicine. She also holds a patent for the first successful natural, prebiotic-based acne treatment, and recently published her first in-depth study of the skin microbiome, SKINISMS. She is regularly featured in both Industry and beauty publications in the U.S. and U.K.
