Our favorite chanteuse from Down Under, Katie Cole, has much to celebrate these days. Recently voted Best Singer-Songwriter of 2022 (@nashvillescene), she’s also in the middle of an epic tour with The Smashing Pumpkins. “I’m filled with all the feels and all the gratitude(s),” she shares on Instagram (@katiecoleofficial)—and we couldn’t agree more. Kudos to Katie!
Aussie artistry in full bloom
If you’re not yet familiar with Katie, let’s catch-up: Australian-born and Nashville-based, Katie was introduced to music by her mom. “I remember [her] buying a record, sitting down next to the stereo with the liner notes in hand, and listening to the whole thing from start to finish,” she says. Inspired, Katie taught herself piano and guitar—and was performing by the age of 16.
Fast forward to 2014, when Katie’s first full-length album, Lay It All Down, hits the scene. Her talents led to high-profile gigs with folks like Glen Campbell (late-father of our friend, Ashley Campbell) and The Smashing Pumpkins.
Today Katie has loads of projects blooming: A new single (“One More Time”); a fresh solo EP, Things That Break, Part 1 (hitting the airwaves in 2023); and The Smashing Pumpkins’ upcoming 33-song album (dropping late 2022/early 2023).
Shining a light on a worthwhile cause
You can now add a French-designed statement candle to the list of Katie’s latest accomplishments Blue Clover. (Oh la la!). In partnership with Flowering Pharmacy, Katie blends layered notes of tuberose, night-blooming jasmine, gardenia, cashmere wood, amber wood, and tonka bean to create what she calls “a warming and happy fragrance.”
In honor of Katie’s kitty, Henri, she’s also donating a portion of each candle sale to the ASPCA. Supporting animals in need is another great reason to indulge.
